How Much Water?
These plants drink primarily through opening the center of their stem, called an urn. Their roots an also absorb water but their main function is to anchor the plant. In the winter months you want to water your plant's urn to about 1/4 full every week. If you keep it topped off it can cause your plant to root, very similar to root rot. When in doubt, better to underwater than to over water. Neoregelias also absorb water through their foliage so they appreciate a good misting every now and then.
How Much Sun?
Neoregelias prefer bright indirect light, but can handle lower light environments. Be aware that lower light will slow the growth of new leaves on your plant and you won't get as much color on your plant's foliage.
Best Temp & Humidity?
This plant fairly tolerant and can adjust to most situations, but prefers to be kept above 65F.
If you keep your plant super happy they can get tiny flowers at the bottom of their urn!
Neoregelias are non-toxic so no worries! But as always, houseplant do best when not nibbled or plucked.
