The ponytail palm is neither a palm nor a tree. A member of the Agave family, this plant is actually classed a succulent!
How Much Water?
Since your ponytail is a succulent, it will grow best in semi-dry conditions. Allow its soil to dry out significantly between waterings, and your Ponytail will be pleased.
How Much Sun?
While your ponytail palm prefers bright light, its forgiving nature will tolerate some shade. In fact, low light conditions for half the year are suitable. That is, as long as you move the plant outdoors for the summer, low light indoors for the winter is fine.
Best Temp & Humidity?
Keep your ponytail palm in a room with temperatures above 60°F, and do not expose to cold drafts.
Ponytail palms are non-toxic and safe for pets and children.
